Breaded fish bites with mashed potatoes
Fish with lemon and remoulade sauce is a classic Swedish combo. A fuss-free, delicious dish that’s easy to adapt to your and your family’s favourite flavours.
Serves: 4 | Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
Breaded fish bites
800 g HAVSSMAK breaded fish bites (2 packages)
1 lemon
Mashed potatoes
600 g ALLEMANSRÄTTEN mashed potatoes (1 package)
Remoulade sauce
4 tbsp SOMMARSKÖRD pickled gherkins, chopped
2 tbsp capers, chopped
3 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
1 dl mayonnaise
1 dl thick sour cream
1 ml ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp yellow curry mixture (optional)
Green peas
250 g frozen green peas
Step by step:
- The fish bites can be cooked in a pan or the oven. If you prefer the oven, heat it to 220C. Meanwhile, make the remoulade sauce.
- Chop the pickled gherkins, capers and herbs. Mix all ingredients. Season with salt, pepper, and curry, if you like. Store the sauce in the fridge.
- Prepare the ALLEMANSRÄTTEN mashed potatoes according to the package instructions, frequently stirring for 9 mins.
- Meanwhile, cook the HAVSSMAK breaded fish bites for 5–15 mins. Please follow the instructions on the package.
- Bring water to a boil, enough to cover the green peas. Add the frozen peas, remove from the heat and set aside for 2 mins. Drain, then serve.
- Serving: Put mashed potatoes, remoulade sauce and green peas on the plate, add the fish bites and squeeze lemon juice on top.
