Good bedroom curtains are defined by a few simple things – how well they darken the room, screen for privacy, filter sunlight and soften acoustics. Still, this is an art that can be performed in countless creative and decorative ways. Here are a few ideas to get you started.
Rails for top-fixed elegance
Hanging your curtains with rails in the ceiling creates a neat look that makes the window appear taller. This also provides superior insulation as it prevents warm air from escaping at the top during colder months. Just make sure to mount the rails firmly and be aware of the total weight of your curtains.
The classic curtain rod
With a bigger distance between the window and the ceiling, or if you simply prefer a more traditional look, a curtain rod might be the best choice. Again, there’s a proven trick to make the window appear a little larger. Simply add 15-30 cm to your measurements on both sides of the window.
Blocking and filtering curtains
