Our take on wood
Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage.
At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Floor decking makes it easy to refresh your terrace or balcony.
The floor decking can be cut if you need to fit it around a corner or a pole.
You can easily take the floor decking apart and put it together again if you want to clean the floor underneath.
You can easily protect your floor against wear and tear by reglazing it on a regular basis, about once a year.

The floor decking is suitable for hard, even surfaces, like for example concrete, stone and wood.
Only recommended for outdoor use.
Possible to separate for recycling or energy recovery if available in your community.
May be combined with other colours of RUNNEN floor decking.
Wood contains tannic acid which, after a time, can leak out and discolour the sub-floor. Never lay wooden decking on a surface where it would matter if this happened.
