IKEA design service process

Step 1: Materials preparation

Customers provide all relevant electronic copies of the design space materials required, including CAD floor plans, utility diagrams, and space photos. (If the original furniture needs to be retained, please provide the detailed dimensions and photo references.) Alternatively IKEA can provide paid measuring services.

Step 2: On-site consultation

Customers bring the above materials to IKEA for Business for on-site consultations to confirm their needs with regards to decorative design, spatial function, IKEA style, and budget. Following this, they pay the design fees and confirm the time arrangements for the final solution.

Step 3: Solution design

IKEA and the customer determine the design cycle. The designer carries out the design according to the customers' requirements. During this time, the representative assisting the customer actively provides assistance.

Step 4: Solution confirmation and purchase

After the solution and product shopping list are confirmed, the customer completes the purchase. (If the customer needs more products than the local IKEA store can provide, we will order additional products and the customer will need to pay in full. Delivery times are subject to the product ordering cycle.)

Step 5: Pickup, delivery, and installation

Completion of pickup, delivery, and installation.

Step 6: Process design fee credit

If the purchase amount satisfies the IKEA design service fee stipulated, you can apply for a design fee credit with the relevant vouchers.

Step 7: Return visit

Staff from IKEA for Business will visit the customer and take photos.
