Generally, solid walls thicker than 12cm can apply wall mounting services. IKEA and our contracted third-party service providers (TSP) will provide you with paid product assembly services, wall-mounting services on solid walls, and free wall-mounting techniques on hollow walls (after on-site evaluation that shows safe to mount). To ensure safety, the TSP will evaluate the condition of the walls in advance before starting the services. 
Please note that in order to find safe anchor points for wall mounting, the TSP may drill multiple holes to determine the anchor points. During the evaluation process, the holes drilled by the carriers in the walls will require the customers to undertake the subsequent repair work on their own. 
The drilling during the evaluation will generate noise, and it is recommended that customers communicate with the property management and other residents in advance.

Note that for wall mounting area that is higher than 3 meters, IKEA cannot provide wall mounting services. Please prepare climbing tool at home and mark the water pipe or electric wires near the wall mounting area (we cannot apply wall mounting directly on these area). 
If you have provided the positions of water, electricity and gas pipelines, but water, electricity or gas leaks occur due to the incorrect positions provided during the drilling process, neither IKEA nor the TSP shall bear any responsibility. Before the wall-mounting service is carried out, you will be required to sign the wall-mounting confirmation form.

Once the TSP confirms that the wall is suitable for the wall-mounting service, the TSP will obtain written confirmation and signature confirmation from you. Only then will the operations of wall mounting / anchoring be performed. We will use special bolts for hollow wall and normal expansion bolts for solid walls.
• Please be noted that you should not place overly heavy objects in the wall-mounted cabinet. The load-bearing capacity of the internal partition boards publicized for the wall-mounted cabinet products is determined based on the wall mounting on solid walls. When it comes to wall mounting on hollow walls, depending on different types of hollow walls and different screw positions, the load-bearing weight will be reduced accordingly. Therefore, you cannot directly refer to the load-bearing values in the product information.
• The load-bearing capacity of the wall-mounting fixing screws, frames and the product itself is limited. In case a wall-mounted frame or wall-mounted cabinet used for wall mounting falls down due to carrying items that exceed the product's load-bearing capacity, neither IKEA nor the carrier shall bear any responsibility.

Wall Mounting Service FAQ

1. How can I know what kind of wall I have?
You can consult your property management company or your real estate developer. TSP will also conduct simple wall inspections for you when the assembly service is booked. If the wall evaluation shows the wall condition is ok, then the wall-mounting service will be provided for you. If the result of the wall assessment shows that it is not suitable for wall mounting, we will handle the return for you.

2. Can I still ask for wall mounting services for walls not listed above?
IKEA cares about you and your family’s safety. We do not provide wall mounting services to walls & material not listed above. You can consult local wall material testing institution and get professional advice.

3. Which products provide free “Secure-it” wall anchoring service?
For cabinets with a height exceeding 75 cm (for children's furniture, exceeding 60 cm), if you have booked the assembly service, the TSP will, by default, provide wall anchoring for solid walls. For hollow walls, it still needs on-site evaluation. If you voluntarily gives up this service, you need to confirm and sign at the bottom of the confirmation form.
