How to create a mood board to find your style
Interior design doesn’t have to be hard. A mood board is an easy way to help harmonise your ideas. Start by seeking inspiration online or in magazines – just to get a sense of what you want. Then, grab the images, colours, textures and items you adore and follow these tips to create your new style.
Miniaturising the big stuff
For a good overview of your new style, it’s best to start with photos of your furniture. From there just add the colours, patterns, materials and decorations you like. It’s easy changing things around until you’ve found your look.
Getting the foundation in place
When it’s time to set your plan in motion, again it’s best to start with the bigger items. This lets you get the dimensions of the room right – not too busy, not too sparse. Once the scene is set, it’s easy to add on lighting, rugs, art and more.
Finding the finishing touches
As the room takes on your mood board style, there is always room for additions. Perhaps one of the pieces of furniture in untreated wood could use some decorative stripes. How about getting a few vases for the table?
