How to design your perfect PAX wardrobe
Give clothes and accessories their forever home in a customised PAX wardrobe. With lots of options, the PAX storage system lets you design a wardrobe that’s perfect for your space and storage needs. Create your solution by choosing frames, doors, knobs and interior organisers in our PAX planner. Here are 6 easy steps to get you started.
1. Choose your frames
First of all, work out how much space you have for your wardrobe. Measure from floor to ceiling and wall to wall – don’t forget to take the skirting board into account! Our frames come in different sizes for all kinds of spaces. There are three widths, two heights and two depths, plus an add-on frame that makes the most of an unused corner. Four easily coordinated colours – white, white stained oak effect, dark grey and grey-beige – complete your options, giving you lots of possibilities to customise your wardrobe. Tip: You also need to add on 1cm for hinged doors and 4cm for sliding doors. And if you assemble your PAX frame upright, make sure you have at least 1cm of free space above it.
2. Select doors, knobs and handles
How your PAX wardrobe looks matters! Do you want your storage open or closed? Maybe you want to skip doors entirely or swap them for a curtain to get a more airy look. But if not, our wide range of doors, knobs and handles will suit all kinds of room style. Start by deciding whether you want hinged or sliding doors, then choose the size and style that works with your frame. Knobs and handles complete the look on hinged doors and are easy to change when you want a style refresh.
3. Organise bigger things with clothes rails, drawers and shelves
Here’s where our KOMPLEMENT interior organisers do their magic. Since bigger clothes and shoes take up most space, choose a mix of KOMPLEMENT clothes rails, shelves and drawers for these first. Dresses, shirts, trousers and coats hang happily on clothes rails, while tops, jeans and jumpers and other things that like to be folded are easily stored on shelves and in drawers. Add mesh baskets to give your clothes better ventilation, and shoe shelves if you need them.
4. Find spaces for smaller accessories
Whether you are storing belts, sunglasses, jewellery, scarves, watches, hair accessories or ties, KOMPLEMENT tray inserts and dividers come with different sizes and styles of compartments to help give everything breathing space. Other organisers for smaller accessories include boxes of varying sizes which are perfect for storing small clothing like vests and underwear. Work out what your accessories need to get an idea of the best small organisers to choose.
5. Throw light on your things!
When all your clothing and accessories are organised, make sure you can find them easily by putting some lighting in place. Inside, you can light up drawers, tray inserts and clothes rails, depending on where lighting is placed. Our integrated interior lighting comes with an automatic sensor and some of it is dimmable – helpful if you want to keep the light low on dark mornings. On the outside, lighting on top or just above your wardrobe gives you a great overview and adds to your bedroom mood.
