Pour hot water over ground coffee beans or tea leaves, push down the strainer and serve straight from the coffee/tea maker.

If you have difficulties pushing down the plunger, remove it from the pot. Then try to push it down slowly and gently vertically. Do not force the plunger down or to the sides since the glass may break.
