  • In the 1970s, IKEA had an exciting development in textiles and many customers came to the stores just for the fabrics. The freelance textile designer Inez Svensson contributed to this success. Her designs were often geometric and in strong bright colours, usually based on stripes and squares. The narrow-striped STRIX and STRAX patterns were launched in 1972 – a success now given new life as cushion covers and metre fabric called NICKFIBBLA in the Nytillverkad collection.
