Our take on wood
Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage.
At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.
The bed has a strong and sturdy construction that allows you to use it for many years.
You can easily vacuum under the bed frame to keep the space clean and dust-free.
There’s plenty of space under the bed for storage boxes - perfect for storing extra quilts and pillows.
Adjustable bed sides allow you to use mattresses of different thicknesses.
Easy to put together thanks to a simplified assembly process with fewer steps and fittings.
Wood veneer gives you the same look, feel and beauty as solid wood with unique variations in grain, colour and texture.
The slatted bed base has 28 layer-glued slats that adjust to your body weight and increase the suppleness of the mattress as well as comfort zones that adjust to your body.
The solid wooden spindles and tapered legs express craftsmanship.
