- "My idea with BUSKBO was to make a series with pieces of furniture that can be used to create a cosy nook at home. They’re light, airy products in rattan that are easy to move around, have a natural, handcrafted look and soft, organic shapes. I made the armchair first and it was a fun challenge to give the other furniture in the series the same expression, yet with different functions. Together they form a whole, while still having their own personalities."Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.
