EQUALITY WORKS BETTER - IKEA diversity & inclusion
On March 8th 2018, IKEA Group celebrates International Women’s Day, honouring the effort to build a more inclusive and equal world.
As a humanistic company, we believe that gender equality is good for our co-workers and our customers. We believe everyone has the right to be treated fairly and be given equal opportunities. We work together to close the gender gap and other inequalities. When people have the same opportunities to grow, regardless of gender or background, everyone wins. Equality just works better.
Today 49% of leaders at IKEA Group are women, and the goal is to reach gender balance in all levels of leadership, functions, and positions. When people have the same opportunities to grow, regardless of gender or background, everyone wins. Equality just works better.

New IKEA Foundation grant helps women fight for their rights
When women’s rights are respected, women can make incredible changes in their communities. That’s why the IKEA Foundation supports more than 20 programmes worldwide to help women lead the way. A new grant of €3.5 million to PRADAN is helping women in India form self-help groups so their voices won’t be ignored. Now they can earn a better income and access government funding for schools and healthcare in their communities. Because equality works better…for EVERYONE.
