Valentine’s Day gifts for the five senses

Take off the pressure to blow the big bucks this Valentine’s Day, and instead gift your loved one with something a little more unique (and affordable). We’ve come up with five sweet, creative, and affordable ways to delight all of the five senses. So choose just one or all, and start crafting your way to a lovely Valentine’s Day.

1. TOUCH: If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that massages are amazing. Fill a glass jar with beautiful blossoms and essential oil, and dedicate some time to treating your partner to a stress-relieving rub-down.

2. TASTE: Treat your loved one to a little something sweet. A simple white mug filled with a few vials of toppings for a warming cup of hot cocoa. It’s easy to customise to their own favourite flavours, and the small serving sizes are perfect for an intimate party of two.

3. SOUND: Forgo the typical card-and-envelope presentation and create a music-themed box by drawing a piano keyboard on the lid with black marker, and adding decorative black tape as the black keys. Add two tickets to your partner’s favourite band and enjoy the show.

4. SIGHT: Some paper, paint, and an understated frame. That’s all you need to create a meaningful work of art. Just dip your fingertips in the paint twice to make a little heart; one from you, one from the kids, and even let your furry friends show their love with a paw print. It’s the easiest and sweetest way to give a lifetime of daily reminders of love.

5. SCENT: Set the mood for romance with a fragrant candle. Place your favourite in a decorative glass lantern, arrange some greenery or flowers around it, and even give it a finishing touch with some ribbon. Pop a bottle of bubbly, and the rest is up to you!

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
