The "all on one wall" nursery bedroom

Is your bedroom about to become a nursery too? You might be wondering how to fit in your new arrival’s cot, clothes and changing table along with your things. This idea could be just the solution.

We chatted with the room’s designer Christina Breeze on what got her thinking about a one wall layout. Her thoughts were that if you can fit all your furniture along one wall there is more room in the rest of the room. All you need is extra space for the bed and maybe a night stand.

What caught our eye was how she incorporated the new baby furniture in a good way. By using two wardrobes at each end for mum and dad, the middle section works great for a cot, changing table and lots of storage space underneath and in-between for baby things — right where they’re most practical. The STUVA wardrobes she chose work for adults, but are really designed for children to use as they grow up, too.

We also liked how Christina combined open shelves for quick grab items, like towels and diapers with drawers for clothes that are easy to organise. And there’s a cute little night light, too, so whoever is on diaper duty can see what they’re doing without waking up the sleeping shift.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
