Take a cue from the spring catwalk and update your space in this season’s playful style. Here we show you how to work three different trends into your home decor.
1. Colour blocking can create a wow effect that makes your interior pop. Start by choosing a plain spot in your home. Restrict your palette to three to four bold brights, then mix and match with lighter shades (we chose light pink) and neutrals for a balanced look.
2. When mixing and matching the graphical look, try combining a few pieces in the same colour scheme. Favour ‘airy’ prints over smaller patterns as the blank space helps to keep the overall impression easy on the eye. We went for a playful feel that suits colour-lovers and minimalists.
3. If all this colour feels a little daunting, try a toned down version. Mix one or two strong shades with light wood, neutrals and powdery pastels. Here we used a burnt orange for a more subtle yet colourful look.
We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
