Light your bedroom (while your partner’s snoozing)
Doing your own thing without disturbing a sleeping your partner can be difficult. The space needs to be cosy and dark enough for them to rest, yet still light enough for you to see what you’re doing. Knowing how to work your lighting to your advantage is half the battle.
1. Sparing your bed mate from light when they're resting will be much appreciated. Place one lamp for each of you in the centre of the headboard so that it faces towards your respective sides. When it’s time to read, you’ll be the only one catching the light. Try a lamp with a dimmer to make it easier on your eyes when you’re just waking up (use a lower light), and keep your eyes from straining while you’re into your book (try a more focused, brighter light).
2. How to make sure your socks are matching without waking your partner? It’s simple. Just light the interior of your wardrobe with a subtle LED light strip. The light will remain focused inside the wardrobe only, making it super easy to find what you’re looking for without brightening the rest of the room.
3. A room divider can be the key to a good night's sleep. Draw your curtain when you have things to do but need to block light, sound and movement from your snoozing partner. It’s a win-win for you both.
4. A well-lit vanity can quickly become your favorite spot in the home. Balanced lighting along both sides eliminates shadows. Place it as far from the bed as possible, so that any movement and light won’t wake your partner.
