Home visit: reorganise your wardrobe storage
Here are some ideas from an open and closed storage solution. In the spirit of renewal, clear out unwanted clothes and reorganise your wardrobe from top to bottom.
Let’s take it from the top. Start by storing your out-of-season clothes up high in boxes. Underneath, position a hanging rail for quick access to the pieces you wear the most – sort by colour to make it easy to find what you’re looking for. Below that, to balance the open storage, add a chest of drawers for the things you’d rather hide. Tidy smaller items, like underwear and socks, into drawer inserts.
‘This is our shared wardrobe space,’ explains Stéphanie, who showed us the made-to-measure wardrobe she and partner Patricia created in their Paris apartment. ‘We each have our own chest of drawers, but the clothes hanging up belong to both of us. Organised storage makes it easy to keep track of who’s borrowed what,’ says Stéphanie.
We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
