1. Start with something plain There’s nothing quite like a blank canvas to kick off a DIY project. Hester chose to enhance her MALM chest of drawers because it’s super easy to customise – the fresh white surfaces really show off the washi tape.

2. Create a design and make it stick Collect a few rolls of washi tape and have a pair of scissors to hand. Now get stuck in! Try inventing a unique design, or, have fun with a geometric motif, like Hester’s. And don’t worry about falling out of love with the look – washi tape is easy to peel off, so you can start afresh.
Safety tip: Remember to fix your chest of drawers to the wall!
