Five ways to invite nature into your bedroom

Let the outdoors decorate your bedroom! Even small changes with plants and lighting can make a major difference. Just see how these easy fixes create a new mood and feel for the room.

Let nature become one with your bed

Climbing plants make great bedside companions. They add a fresh air and can easily be made to mesh with most irregular forms. Like this tubing headboard, that lets you blur the lines between ivy and bed altogether.

A room divider turned blooming hedge

Plants can transform a room – even when they’re not real. Combine artificial flowers and leaves with a room divider, and you have a partition to make all sides of your bedroom a little greener.

Under a starry sky

If you like the idea of sleeping under a sprawling canopy, this is for you. Find a branch you fancy, hang it from the ceiling and stud it with glinting lights. A hint of the open sky from the cosy comfort of your own bed.

Sleep by the campfire glow

The flickering light from a kerosene lamp is enough to tickle anyone’s imagination. Our dimmable LED version does the trick, only without the fire hazard. Also, its soft, yellow glow sets the right, calming mood for bedtime.

Windows in bloom

If you have little room for plants (or time to nurture them), why not go for the two-dimensional kind? Use deco stickers to cast flowery shadows, or simply to put a twist on the view from your bedroom window.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
