Fresh home furnishing ideas and affordable furniture - IKEA

Create the ultimate sleeping spot for your needs

Furnish your bedroom to suit your body temperature even if you and your partner have very different internal thermostats.

Sleep like the Scandinavians

Try two single duvets so each of you can choose your perfect tog rating, filling and size. Go for a thinner quilt in natural materials if you often feel warm, and high thread count bedding to keep you cool. If you suffer from the cold, use a thick warm quilt, soft cotton bedding and an extra blanket. An organic mattress with a layer of coconut fibre allows air to circulate so both partners can sleep soundly.

Maximise rest and relaxation with functional deco – cold sleepers

Hang an extra throw on the wall that you can grab from your bed. Just turn on the light so you can see (we went for a lamp with directional light to use as a reading lamp, which has a built in wireless charger too). Keep warm socks in lightweight baskets on the floor in case your feet get cold. Try a furry sheepskin as a rug next to your bed to make getting up in the morning more inviting.

Keep some cool refreshments beside your bed on a smart tray table. When you need to refill just lift off the tray and carry it into the kitchen rather than stumbling around the bedroom with your hands full of glasses. Hang a lightweight bathrobe on a hook near your bed – we placed ours next to the open window for a refreshing feel first thing in the morning.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
