Do more than eat

A true love for food starts early and usually with the smallest of tasks. Keep children engaged and give them a part to play in the family meal, like dusting dessert with snowy, powdered sugar. It’ll be much easier for them to do at the dining table than at high kitchen counters.

Dish it out

Forget matchy-matchy flatware. It’s not about perfection, after all, it’s about togetherness. So give the grandparents your favourite table setting, and the little ones something a bit more colourful and kid-friendly. They’re bound to play with their food eventually, and you won’t have to worry about chipped dishes.

The cook’s corner

Sure, you could prep dinner in the kitchen, but why be left out of the conversation and laughs happening around the table? With sturdy, large cutting boards and your favourite knife, the table is just as good a place as any to get your meal underway.
