A quick moving-in dinner in your new home

Moving can be a messy deal, but why not turn the mild chaos in your favour? Reward the family and friends who have helped you – and maybe a few of your new neighbours – with a gathering among moving crates and bare walls.

Build a cardboard table

In the middle of a move, it’s likely hard to locate all tables and chairs. Just as likely, there’s no shortage of moving boxes. Use them to assemble a surface tailored in both size – and heights.

Store what you need in plain sight

While most things rest safely tucked away in cardboard, an instant dinner requires at least some items to be easily found. Keeping vital accessories in see-through boxes also makes it easy to involve the children: First one to find the lazy Susan gets the biggest pizza slice!

A welcome for everyone, big and small

With a shower curtain as a protective tablecloth and sturdy tableware to boot, it’s suddenly time for your first supper in your new home. While you’re at it, why not hang a welcome sign to usher passing neighbours to join in?

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
