3 tips to make your space feel not-so-small

Love city living? So do we. But unfortunately there’s often one not-so-big sacrifice: space. Here are 3 ways to give the illusion of a bigger home.

1. If you daydream of higher ceilings, play around with your curtains. Mount the rods as high as possible and run your curtains all the way from the ceiling to the floor. To make the room feel wider, place them at each end of the room. Easy!

2. Mirrors are a tried and true way to create feelings of greater depth and light. Of course, you could use one larger mirror, but we love the idea of decorating with a few different sizes and shapes for additional style points.

3. It’s all about the air. Get a roomier room by picking furniture with lighter frames and bases, as well as glass tops and doors. If you forgo the usual heavy bookcase for open shelving and brackets built up high, you’ll end up with lots of clean, uncluttered wall space.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
