IKEA asks all customers in China who own a BÄSINGEN shower chair, anthracite, with date stamps starting from (YYWW) 2446 until 2522 to stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund.  

Safety is a top priority for IKEA and therefore we are taking precautionary measures and recalling certain BÄSINGEN shower chairs, due to non-compliance with a local, mandatory standard for holes and gaps, as there is a risk of finger entrapment. IKEA develops its products using a rigorous risk assessment and testing program, to make sure that the products live up to all applicable laws and standards on the markets where they are sold. Therefore, certain BÄSINGEN shower chairs are being recalled. 

Customers who own a BÄSINGEN shower chair, anthracite, with one of the affected date stamps (see above) should stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund. Proof of purchase (i.e. a receipt) is not required.  The four digit date stamp can be found on a white label located on the side bottom of the seat.   

Please spread the word about this recall, especially if the recalled product was offered, lent or sold to someone else.
