The symbols show how to handle candles safely. You can find them on the packages for all IKEA candles – though they may look somewhat different, depending on the candle type. Therefore, take a close look at the product packages.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Burn candle out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.

Minimum safety distance between burning candles. 7 cm is an example. The exact safety distance for the specific candle type is stated
on the package.

Do not place candles in a draught.

Do not place candles near a source of heat.

Always use a candleholder.

Place candles in an upright position.

Trim wick to about 1 cm before lighting.

Trim edges to a height of 1 cm.

Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring.

Do not move a burning candle.

Always snuff out the flame. Do not blow it out.

Never use liquid to extinguish.

Do not allow the candle to burn out completely.

Maximum height of candle.

Only use tealight in holders and warming stoves with sufficient ventilation.

Use a suitable container as these candles liquefy when burning.
