Marc and his partner Loes left Amsterdam at the beginning of the pandemic and have led a nomadic lifestyle on the road, living in a small camper van. Unlimited access to clean water is not something they can take for granted, limiting warm showers to sometimes once a week, or suddenly running out of drinking water.

Being able to afford a house in Amsterdam with a big garden or balcony feels unrealistic, but their nomadic lifestyle has given them a new perspective – they don’t need a garden to be happy, they just need to go out more.

Zuzanna recently returned to Poland after many years abroad. She had just received the keys to her dream apartment in Warsaw, a place she could finally call home. When the war in Ukraine broke out, she instead offered her new apartment to a large family with children fleeing from Ukraine.
